The Carmel Car Service Corporation was founded in 1978 by Mike Zubari.〔 Avik Kabessa moved to New York from Israel in 1983. After brief shifts as a bike messenger and hotel clerk, he founded a car-service company at the end of the same year. Avik merged his Sinai with Carmel. Over the years, Kabessa had expanded Carmel to 320 locations worldwide. Kabessa spent the majority of his early years in the business working behind the wheel — so when a customer unleashes a complaint, the executive presumes the driver to be innocent until proven guilty.
